Man speeds 112 miles per hour on way to court to fight speeding ticket


A man of Connecticut, was pulled over on a charge of excessive speeding after allegedly traveling at high speeds in his way to court, police in Vermont said.

Royalton police said that a state trooper stopped 33-year-old Seth Tichenor of Hartford, after he was caught traveling at speeds of 112 miles per hour on Interstate 89 on Wednesday afternoon.

During questioning, Tichenor told the officer that he was speeding in order to get to a court, where he was required to appear to answer charges of speeding.

The speed limit on Interstate 89 is 65 miles per hour.

According to the police investigation, police received reports that a vehicle was traveling at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour and weaving in and out of traffic.

Tichenor was charged with speeding and negligent operation.
