Michael Gray makes peace with Sunderland following verbal attack on Ellis Short

Michael Gray has made peace with Sunderland following an outburst about chairman Ellis Short.
The talkSPORT pundit was outspoken of his criticism of the Black Cats owner last week but, although he stands by his comments about broken promises, he admits he may have gone too far in his attack on Short.

“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m very passionate about my hometown club,” Gray told the Sunderland Echo. “However, in this instance that passion got the better of me.
“It was wrong of me to say that the fans had been lied to by the chairman and I will tell Ellis that when I speak with him.

“I have a good relationship with the club and I know they are as keen as I am to draw a line under this and move on.

“I spoke to them and they reiterated to me that I haven’t been banned from the stadium, so there’s just been a misunderstanding there and I’m happy to put this to bed so everyone can concentrate on what’s important.”
